The TASC test is a high school equivalency exam emerging as an alternative to the GED that can be taken online and on paper. The TASC test has five subtests (Reading, Writing, Mathematics, Science, and Social Studies).


SETX TESTING LOCATION:

Lamar Institute of Technology - 855 E Lavaca St, Beaumont, TX

Exams must be scheduled online. You’ll be asked to create an online account and select your testing location and an exam time that works for you.



FEES:

• $126 per battery (All five subjects)/$25.20 per individual subject
• Payble by debit card or credit card
• Candidates can retake some tests for free, but may be required to pay a reduced rate to retake tests after a certain period of time.


REQUIREMENTS:

• Applicants 18 years or older who are neither graduates of nor enrolled in an accredited high school are eligible to take the TASC test. Applicants 16 or 17 years old may be eligible if they meet certain requirements.

• Applicants to take the test in Texas must provide proof of identification with a state driver’s license, identification card, military identification card, or valid U.S. passport or passport card.

• Applicants must also prove Texas residency with a Texas driver’s license, state-issued ID or a utility bill or bank statement with a Texas address.
